2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, date of birth, photos, and profile details. We also collect usage data such as swipes, connections, and messages, and technical data such as device identifiers used to deliver push notifications.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to provide and improve the White Pill service, match you with other users, send notifications, process payments and subscriptions, and enforce our community guidelines. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data because it is necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the matching and messaging service), because of legitimate interests (such as keeping the platform safe and improving the service), or because you have given consent (such as for optional push notifications).
5. Data Sharing and Service Providers
We share data only with service providers necessary to operate White Pill: Supabase (database hosting, authentication, and photo storage), Google Firebase (push notification delivery), RevenueCat (subscription and in-app purchase management), and Apple and Google (processing payments through the App Store and Play Store). These providers only receive the data needed to perform their function and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
6. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or a provider's participation in an approved data protection framework, to ensure your data remains protected.
7. Photos and Media
Photos you upload are stored securely and displayed to other users as part of your profile. You may delete your photos at any time through the profile editor.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the profile menu, which will permanently remove your data from our systems.
9. Security
We use industry-standard encryption and access controls to protect your data, including restricting access to your photos and profile data to authorised requests only. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
10. Children's Privacy
White Pill is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware of such data, it will be deleted immediately.
11. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the account settings within the app or contact us at contact@whitepill.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your data has been mishandled.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use of White Pill after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
